If like me, you are getting tired of the sticky sunscreen, excessive heat and just want to lay back in your hoodie to enjoy a warm cup of tea…

It probably also means you are ready to add some spooky vibes to your cozy gaming!

Here are a few of my recommendations to help set the right mood!

1. Lost in Random

Adventure in a dark, creepy world where everyone’s life is chosen by the odds of black dice.

Battle using your magical dice and try to save your sister from a cruel fate. Enjoy a captivating narrative set in a dark fairy tale with an amazing narrator.

Average gameplay: 12 hours

Even though I am not the biggest fan of story games, this game has captured my attention from start to finish. I was even sad to have finished it! This little gem is highly underrated and I recommend it from the bottom of my heart.

2. Wytchwood

Collect magical ingredients, brew sorcerous enchantments, and explore a colorful world with unique graphics.

Wytchwood is a crafting adventure game set in a unique land full of intriguing characters and creatures.

Average gameplay:  11 hours

3. Graveyard Keeper

Build and manage your own graveyard and expand into entertainment with witch-burning festivals.

Enjoy a dark humored storyline with unique gameplay and concept. Be the preacher in your church and upgrade many skills!

Average gameplay: 46 hours

This game is a pure gem. It may be a little confusing at first, but my tip would be to search on their wiki as soon as you are not sure to understand! Quickly you will get used to thing and enjoy it way more than you thought!

4. Little Misfortune

Play as little misfortune and go on a somber adventure with a magical fox & a grim yet intriguing narrator.

Explore a cozy yet spooky world in this point and click game. Face serious issues with a sprinkle of glitter and dark humor.

Average gameplay: 3 hours

5. Don’t Starve

(or Don’t Starve Together if you want to play with friends)

Play as different characters with special abilities and try your best to survive a dark and creepy world.

Craft, cook, explore, fight and so much more! Beware of the dark and different creatures that will try to eat you (or possibly worse).

Average gameplay: 28 hours

Number of players: 1

This game can be confusing at first because it lacks a sense of direction. I’d highly recommend trying at an easier difficulty if you are not looking forward to dying repeatedly at first. Once you understand the basics, you will have an amazing time exploring strange worlds and discovering a bunch of new recipes.

6. Beholder

You are playing as a landlord hired by the state to spy on your tenants.

Choose your path as you can steal, sneak, blackmail, and face the consequences of the decisions you’ll make.

Average gameplay: 6 hours

Number of players: 1

Take very difficult decisions, suffer from the consequences and try multiple times to see all the possibilities. This game is dark, interesting and has so many fun aspects to the gameplay.

7. The Longing

Experience an unusual mix of idle and adventure as a very lonely little servant.

For 400 days, choose what you will do with your time as your king has fallen into a deep sleep.

Average gameplay: 18 hours

8. Beacon Pines

Embark in a cozy, yet eerie world where you play as adorable characters in a story book.

Uncover secrets, collect words to change the course of the story and explore the different paths possible!

Average gameplay: 5 hours

Number of players: 1

Cute and mysterious story with spooky vibes. You get to make different decisions and see different outcomes from chapter to chapter. I loved selecting different paths in the storybook!

9. Creepy Tale

Adventure in a world inspired by the Brother Grimm fairy tales.

Go through dangerous challenges and puzzles as you try to save the creatures of the forest.

Average gameplay: 5 hours

Number of players: 1

10. Cult of the Lamb

Play as a cute little lamb and grow a cult. Customize your cult members, your camp and discover many new abilities!

You can choose multiple ways to manage your cult… from sacrificing members to feeding them mushrooms… It is an addictive masterpiece.

Average gameplay: 15 hours

Number of players: 1-2

Will forever be one of my all time favorites as it blended management, dark humor and dungeon crawling perfectly. I loved choosing the different forms of my followers as they were all so cute!

Hopefully these suggestions will put you in the right mood for a wonderful season filled with coziness and just the right amount of spookiness.
